Biggest
protests since Vietnam War!
February 17, 2003 saw the biggest protest the city has seen
since the Vietnam War. Up to 100,000 people from all ages groups and
backgrounds gathered in Roma Street before marching through the street
of Brisbane in a massive protest against the expected US-led war on
Iraq. Protesters gathered in the City Botanical Gardens to listen
to speakers and show our leaders what the people of Brisbane, and
the rest of the country feel.
